COASTAL PROMISE MARCH 2018
Thank you for your interest in attending Coastal Promise March 2018 (formerly called Atlantic Promise [2016-2017] and Atlantic Hope [2013-2015]). Please fill out this form in its entirety if you are interested in participating. Registration closes February 2, 2018. Understand that this is an application for admission. The Forage Center reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant and return all fees paid. Fees will be returned in full before the registration deadline (less a small service charge). Contact the Forage Center about refunding fees after the registration deadline.

To attend the event, you must be a currently enrolled (part time or full time) graduate student. International students can apply, but the Forage Center will not sponsor visa applications. If you are not a graduate student, please contact us regarding other options for participating in our programming.

Coastal Promise is a full-scale 4-day field simulation. It recreates the challenges and conditions professionals encounter in complex emergencies characterized by conflict, disaster, and humanitarian need. During the event, participants, acting as members of a non-governmental organization, engage in intensive negotiations, humanitarian assistance, peacebuilding assessment, and human rights advocacy as part of a scenario based on a realistic conflict or humanitarian crisis.

Once you have filled out this form, you will receive a confirmation email with a link indicating where to make your payment for participation in Coastal Promise March 2018. Thereafter, you will receive information about how to prepare for the simulation by email. The fee is $625 US for enrolled students. If you cannot afford the fee, please contact us regarding scholarship information that might cover part of the fee.

Coastal Promise will be held March 15-18, 2018 in Fellsmere, Florida, USA. Participants must arrange their own transportation to Florida. The Forage Center can pick up participants from local airports. The City of Fellsmere, and Operation Hope, a local service organization, host the Forage Center.

If you have any questions or concerns (including about enrollment or scholarships), please contact David J. Smith, Forage Center President, at david@foragecenter.org, or visit www.foragecenter.org for more information.
