DrPH AAPE Presentation Feat. Melissa Adomako
Join us for a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) Advanced Applied Practice Experience (AAPE) Presentation. Students pursuing the DrPH must successfully complete both an AAPE as well as a Dissertation. The AAPE requires the student to lead a project of significance for an organization in advancing the public's health.

Title: An Evaluation of Tema General Hospital's Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP).

DrPH student, Melissa Adomako, will present her AAPE conducted with Tema General Hospital in Ghana. This project examined the implementation of core Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) elements at the hospital and explored stakeholder perspectives on successes and challenges through a comprehensive evaluation using CDC’s Global Antimicrobial Stewardship Evaluation Tool (G-ASET). The study identified strengths, gaps, and opportunities to enhance program effectiveness and developed recommendations to guide leadership in strengthening ASP implementation. This presentation will review the evaluation process, key findings, and recommendations, highlighting ways to enhance the hospital’s efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance.
