Our volunteers are a major part of ASAP's upcoming events and performances. By providing nearly 1,000 veterans, service members, and military family members the opportunity to participate in our workshops and performances, Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) has seen statistically significant increases in their self-esteem, resiliency, and artistic skills. Our Events Volunteers are the ones who make this happen! As a volunteer, you will ensure our freshly graduated comics have an audience to see their first performance. You also serve as a point of contact for the workshop participants and allow them to focus on beginning the journey towards learning a totally new art form. By interacting directly with our participants, audience members, and teaching artists, you will have a direct impact on the quality of ASAP’s programs.
Be sure to check out our full volunteer position description on our website - www.asapasap.org/volunteer for more information regarding qualifications, responsibilities, and commitment!
In the future, we are hoping to expand our capacity and offer a wider array of volunteer experiences, including those outlined below:
Community Outreach Volunteers: We are looking to increase our impact and need your help! As the Outreach Volunteer Lead, you will assist the Community Manager in planning 6 major outreach events over the course of a calendar year. By assembling and leading a team of volunteers, you will use your insight and drive to ensure we can reach as many people as possible and continue to have a positive impact in your community.
Social Volunteers: ASAP’s mission is to reintegrate veterans into their communities through the arts. A major portion of achieving that mission is building up our own community to provide a positive and supportive environment for our participants to thrive in– that is where our Social Volunteers come in! As a Social Volunteer Lead, you will assist the Community Manager in planning four major social events throughout the year. These events will bring the entire ASAP community together over food, drinks, and the fun activities that you design! By bringing everyone together, you will help provide the glue and fun that makes our community thrive.
Be sure to indicate on this application if you are interested in either of these opportunities. We will begin building those teams before the summer!
In order to join our volunteer team, please take about 10 - 15 minutes to complete the following application! You can always reach out to our Program Manager, Val Smith, with any questions or concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org.
