Nutrition Policy Training RSVP
Food System Support and the Seattle Food Committee have partnered with Public Health - Seattle King County to present a Nutrition Policy Training for all Seattle food banks.

Join us for the first of a three-part workshop series* on writing a nutrition policy! This workshop is designed to review why a nutrition policy is important in food banks, and to provide dedicated time for you to create an individualized policy for your food bank.

Session 1 on May 9th will covering the following topics:
• The connection between food insecurity and health
• Why a nutrition policy is important in food banks
• Sample nutrition policies
• The elements of a nutrition policy
• Using USDA’s Dietary Guidelines/MyPlate as your nutrition guidelines
• Getting your staff, volunteers, and board involved in creating a nutrition policy

*Food bank personnel should attend nutrition policy sessions in order to gain the most benefit from this workshop series.
