Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour national certification course that is designed to teach the layperson the skills to recognize the signs of a mental health or substance use disorder crisis, identify community resources, and link individuals in need of treatment and support to the proper resources.
The course consists of a 1.5-hour self-paced introduction course online, followed by a 6-hour virtual skills session with live Mental Health First Aid instructors. Participants will learn a 5-step action plan and practice applying it throughout the skills section of the course.
Maryland's Mental Health First Aid organization charges $119, but we are offering this course for $28.95 per person, which covers the cost of the seat in the Learning Management System and resource materials for participants to refer back to.
