Laptop Upcycle holds intern sessions at our lab located at 60 S Fullerton Ave in Montclair on:
Sundays from 3 - 5 PM
WHAT WE DO:
We clear off all data on donated laptops, install new software, fix any problems and then clean and test the laptops in these sessions. You can expect a variety of activities around these topics. You may be asked to work solo or in groups.
WHO CAN ATTEND:
We limit attendance to the first 15 people who sign up to attend a session. This is to to maintain reasonable social distance to the extent possible. We have increased our airflow and organized our work space to minimize face-to-face interactions to limit possible infections. Masks are optional. We provide hand sanitizer and nitrile gloves for anyone who wants to use them. You must be fully vaccinated.
Most of our interns are high school students or adults but we do accept SOME younger applicants if they are very mature and have a keen passion for our mission. If you are not in High School and would like to help out contact us via email at:

HOW MANY SESSIONS AM I REQUIRED TO DO:
There is no minimum or maximum. After your registered as a volunteer/intern just sign up for a session and show up. We track your participation and can complete forms for community service hours and the like.
We limit attendance at each session so if you have to cancel please inform us ASAP via email to volunteer@laptopupcycle.org so someone else can attend in your stead.
HOW DO I GET STARTED:
To join a session you must register using THIS Google form and be approved. The Email address you register with will be used for all communications during registration.
You must also Print/Complete the 2 release forms below and email them as a PDF or picture to volunteer@laptopupcycle.org
Until we have your 2 completed release forms and this google form is completed, you are not approved as an intern/volunteer and not approved to sign up for any sessions. After you have been approved as an intern/volunteer, you will receive a confirming email and you may sign up for sessions using the link below:
When we have received your 2 release forms, you will receive a confirming email saying you are registered and eligible to sign up for your chosen session.
PARENTS
The person who will attend the sessions must do the registration process themselves; you're welcome and even encouraged to attend all or part of your child's first session but you cannot do the registration or session sign up process for them.
I'M NOT SURE, HOW DO I KNOW ITS RIGHT FOR ME
You won't really know unless you try, register and sign up for a session. There is no ongoing obligation.
