We are holding by-elections to fill several committee positions that went unfilled at last month's AGM and one position (on the Ways and Means Committee, normally elected in September) that is available due to a resignation. The following positions are open to any member of the Local:
Bargaining Research Preparatory Committee (1)
CUPE Toronto District Council (1)
Employment Equity Committee (2)
Finance Committee (2)
Joint Health and Safety Committee (7)
Labour Management Committee – Unit 3 Representative (1)
Research Costs Fund Committee (1)
Toronto & York Region Labour Council (3)
Ways & Means Committee (1)
Information regarding each committee can be found in the Get Involved section of our website. Per the Bylaws, members may serve on a maximum of four (4) committees annually.
Any committee positions with more nominees than open positions will be voted on at the 23 April 2025 General Membership Meeting (GMM). Otherwise, nominees will be acclaimed to their positions.
Candidates are invited to nominate themselves using this form and to include a statement in support of their nomination. Statements received by Tuesday, 22 April will be included in the GMM package. Nominations can still be submitted after this deadline, but will likely not be included in the GMM package.
Members can also nominate themselves during the GMM, and candidates for any contested positions will be given a chance to make a two-minute statement in support of their candidacy. Voting will take place at the GMM and end when the meeting ends.
