Which approach do you prefer for including social-emotional skills and culture-climate metrics in the Index?
For social-emotional skills, there are four separate skills. We can either include a composite of these skills on the Index or include each skill separately. Similarly, culture-climate can be looked at as a composite or as separate measures for each of the four topics covered for each of the three groups surveyed (students, staff and families). We offer three options below, which can be viewed here: http://bit.ly/1H4UzbO
. We recommend Option B, where social emotional skills are broken out skill by skill and culture-climate results are included as a composite for student surveys, a composite for staff surveys and a composite for family surveys. This keeps the number of indicators for these items in the Index to seven. It foregrounds the social-emotional skills individually, and, for culture-climate, the approach foregrounds the stakeholder groups included.
