Is my manuscript ready for submission to JMBE?
Some authors planning on submitting a manuscript to JMBE are unsure for which section the manuscript is most appropriate. Common confusions are the focus and type and quantity of assessment required by submissions to different sections.

Three sections: Reviews (focusing on reviews of educational materials related to science education), Perspectives (focusing on an education difficulty or challenge), and Tips and Tools (serving as a platform for educators to highlight and share classroom and laboratory best-practices in a quick and readily adoptable manner) require no assessment. Curriculum (innovative classroom or laboratory activities ready for adoption by instructors) and Research (hypothesis-driven research in student learning) require assessment.

For a more detailed description of each section of the journal see the "Section Guidelines" here: http://jmbesubmissions.asm.org/index.php/jmbe/about/submissions#authorGuidelines.
