Black Lives Matter at School Week 2018
The Caucus of Working Educators Racial Justice Committee, along with several other organizations, is organizing its second annual Black Lives Matter Week of Action from February 5-10, 2018. Inspired by the Black Lives Matter at School action that took place in October in Seattle in 2016, when two thousand teachers across 80 schools wore Black Lives Matter shirts to show support for their students of color, we organized the first Week of Action in January of 2017, with educators and supporters participating in more than one hundred schools across Philadelphia.
We are Philadelphia educators organizing for racial justice in our schools and communities. Our proposal has divided the 13 guiding principles of Black Lives Matter across the week, along with community events that will allow us to build understanding, power, and action:
A full calendar, curriculum links, and additional information will be posted soon!

The goals of the week include:
*Create a space for dialogue and deeper introspection around the 13th guiding principles
*Provide deeper connections between educators, parents, students, and community organizations
*Stand in support with national organizing grounding the Black Lives Matter movement.
