2023-2024 Student Parking Application
                                                    Only Class of 2024 Students may apply.

CURRENTLY, ALL APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED TO THE WAITLIST ONLY. Please complete and you will be contacted in the Fall only if another student fails to meet the requirements below and is removed from the space assigned.  Please note, there are usually a small number of students that fail to meet the requirements.

Application Process

  • The 2023-24 Student Parking Application will be opened on Tuesday, May 30th at 3:30pm.  Only current Seniors are permitted to apply. 
  • Eligible applications will be randomly approved using www.random.org.
  • Preference will be given to seniors who are dually enrolled or have a school approved internship.  Preference is for application approval only, lot vs. street assigned parking will be assigned by random selection.   
  • Siblings are encouraged to apply individually to increase chances for approval and lot assignment, however only one student per family will be approved for a permit.
  • Students will be emailed parking status with instructions for payment through School Cash Online and permit pick-up over the summer.  Students are charged a $78 non-refundable fee for a parking permit.   
  • If a parking permit is needed for medical reasons, students are instructed to apply for an ADA placard through the MVA. Both short and long term assignments can be approved.  Once the MVA assigns an ADA placard, parking is permitted in the on-campus ADA spaces. Space is not guaranteed and is first come, first served on a daily basis.
  • Any misrepresentation or falsification of records will result in the loss of parking privileges and parking permit. 

The following criteria must be met to qualify for a parking permit:

  1. Student must be a SENIOR. 
  2. Student must present a valid driver's license and complete the MCPS SSL hours graduation requirement by  September 8th. Parking permits will not be provided until proof of driver's license and SSL completion is presented. After September 8th, approval is revoked, permit will be assigned to the next student on the waiting list, and your application will be moved to the waiting list. 
  3. Student must not have any outstanding obligations at the time of permit pick-up (tentative dates will be August 23-25th and ongoing during lunch in the main office).  Obligations can be paid through School Cash Online (SCO) at  https://mcpsmd.schoolcashonline.com/.  
  4. There is a $78, non-refundable fee for a parking permit. Only on-line payments are accepted.  Once approved for parking, the ability to purchase parking will be posted to your SCO account.
  5. Student must present required documentation at the time of permit pick-up.

MCPS required documentation includes:

  • a copy of the student's valid driver's license and current auto insurance card,
  • proof of SSL completion, 
  • payment receipt, and
  • an originally signed MCPS Form 215-6
