The mission of the Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco Foundation (KRMEF) is to foster health and well-being in Nepal's most impoverished communities by encouraging sustainable change through environmentally-friendly programs.
Since 2010, KRMEF has hosted interns ranging in age, ability, interests, and skill sets from nearly 50 countries. Interns remain a vital component to the overall function of the Foundation's many programs. KRMEF is seeking a long-term intern (5 months or more) to act as Volunteer Coordinator. The responsibilities of this internship are as follows:
-Act as a liaison between KRMEF and the US Board of Directors' Voluntourism Committee for the purposes of strengthening the voluntourism program.
-Respond to volunteers interested in visiting and/or staying at KRMEF.
-Welcome volunteers and provide them with a tour and essential information upon arrival.
-Match volunteers with appropriate tasks based on their interests and KRMEF's greatest needs.
-Post regularly on social media about volunteer-related happenings around KRMEF.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
-Upbeat and positive attitude.
-Dedication to furthering KRMEF's mission.
-Ability to work well with a diverse staff and volunteer base.
-Experience in the nonprofit and/or hospitality fields preferred.
-Experience living abroad.
-Proficiency in English (additional language proficiencies are also helpful!).
-Proficiency in various social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
