HOPE - Healing Our People through Engagement

Applications Open for HOPE Program Dallas — Two Cohorts Starting October 2026

The Dallas Asian American Historical Society is proud to be the anchor organization for the HOPE (Healing Our People through Engagement) Program in Dallas, in partnership with Stop AAPI Hate and AAPI Equity Alliance.

After completing our pilot cohort this spring, we’re excited to now offer two simultaneous cohorts, beginning October 6 and 7, 2026. This community-centered program creates culturally grounded healing spaces for Asian American communities to address racial trauma, isolation, and the long-term impacts of anti-Asian racism.

Rooted in a radical healing framework, HOPE centers collective care, connection, and belonging.

This FREE 7-week virtual group is a space for Asian/Asian Americans to reflect on experiences with racism, deepen their connection to identity, and build community. Through facilitated, interactive two-hour sessions, we’ll cultivate pride in our heritage, share collective wisdom, and explore ways to take action—both individually and together.

  • We ask that you commit to attending all (or most) of the sessions
  • This group is part of a pilot program using the Healing Our People through Engagement (HOPE) curriculum by AAPI Equity Alliance (cofounder of Stop AAPI Hate) . There will be two trained facilitators.
  • Participation is voluntary and free.
  • Consent Form (PDF) will be emailed and must be completed before participation.
  • Sessions will take place via Zoom.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • This group is for Asian/Asian American adults (18+) who live in North Texas who are proficient in English.
  • Availability for all (or most) sessions is encouraged to maintain continuity.
  • A stable internet connection, Zoom access, and a private space for participation are recommended.
  • No prior knowledge or experience is required to participate.
  • Asian American includes the full spectrum of Asian identities: East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, Central Asian, West Asian, and Pacific Islander communities. It also includes those who are mixed-race, adoptees, LGBTQ+, undocumented, refugee, or diasporic. The Dallas Asian American Historical Society aims to be a space where all feel seen, heard, and represented.
