LA Copyright Society - Associate Application
The LACS Associate program is for attorneys who are in good standing with a state bar, but who are not otherwise eligible to apply for membership because they do not have the five years of experience in the copyright, entertainment or communications field which is required to become an LACS Member. Associate status is an option designed to encourage and facilitate attendance at meetings by interested attorneys who do not otherwise qualify for membership, without the necessity of being sponsored by an LACS Member at every event.

A person may become an LACS Associate by attending one meeting as the guest of an LACS Member and completing this application within sixty (60) days thereafter. Upon becoming an LACS Associate, the Associate will receive LACS email notifications sent to members and may attend LACS meetings for a period of twelve (12) months without the necessity of an LACS sponsor. Upon expiration of the twelve (12) months, if still eligible to be an Associate, the attorney may re-establish his or her Associate status by attending another meeting as the guest of an LACS Member and submitting another application. No person may be an LACS Associate for more than five (5) years.

The Associate will be charged the same meeting fee as is charged to guests (currently $85.00). There is no fee for becoming an LACS Associate, and no dues need be paid.
