***Alumni Relations CommitteeWe is stronger than Me.Based on this mentality, the newly formed Alumni Relations Committee sets out to work with Alumnus on on and off campus events. Currently, we will be working with Asian Pacific Alumni, as well as other networks in the near future! Major projects include: Career Fair, which is normally held in Winter Quarter, a collaboration between API Alumni and API Students to broaden their connections not only inside the UCLA space, but outside as well. Asian Pacific Islander Graduation, always held at the end of spring quarter, where any graduating student of the API body can come together and celebrate their achievements with friends and family in one big ceremony extravaganza. Of course, this is not an all inclusive list because our projects will be as dynamic as you! Come be a part of bridging the past with the present for a better API future!
***Gender & Sexuality CommitteeCome learn, discuss, and debate what it means to be LGBTQ and/or a womyn (with a y!) in the Asian Pacific Islander community! We’ll talk about current issues, breaking the stereotypes, and owning your identity in a safe, open space.
***Publicity CommitteeThe Publicity Committee works to increase APC’s visibility on the UCLA campus as well as in the greater Los Angeles area. We outreach to new members and help keep them up to speed on the campaigns and events that APC is organizing. In addition, the Publicity Committee also works with the other committees to publicize their events or programs through outreaching, flyering, and other PR strategies. Within the committee, members will have an opportunity to not only work on PR projects but to discuss the importance of visibility for APC and the API community in general. The skills you will develop in this committee will revolve around learning different PR strategies and how to outreach effectively.
***Relevant Education Committee (APIUA)If you are an Asian American Studies major or minor (or a prospective one), or if you just have a passion to see relevant histories and stories incorporated into our education, this is for you!
Tuesdays, 5:30PM – 6:30PM, Campbell 3221
***APC Internship (more info released through email soon! sign up now!)APC Internship focuses on developing the minds of younger individuals who want to learn more about issues that are affecting the larger API community while developing their own leadership skills. These skills range from learning how to plan events logistically to learning how to assess critically the current state of the API community.
