Here's a hint: If I left one of the words off the list, it wouldn't affect the answer. What do these words have in common?

PUZZLER #2- THE BOOTS OF SCHWEE AND SCHMOO:

In the little Asian country of Sulemia, there are the two towns of Schwee and Schmoo, a few miles apart on either side of a mountain. The preferred footwear in this region is the open toed sandal.

There are 20,000 people who live in Schwee and 1 percent of them, due to accident or injury, have one foot only. Such people only ever wear only one sandal. Half of the remaining people in the town wear no sandals at all. They go barefoot. The rest of the people in the town wear two sandals.

Can you figure out how many sandals there are in Schwee?

In Schmoo, a full 20 percent of the people have only one foot. Of the remaining people, half of them wear no sandals and half of them wear two sandals -- and there are exactly 20 thousand total sandals worn in Schmoo.

Here’s the question. What's the population of Schmoo?
