Making a Food Map of the Valley
Hello!

The purpose of the survey below is to 1) Find sources of local food, 2) Find where it goes overall, 3) Find where individual people can access it. These locations are being added to a custom Google Map showing where people can obtain various groceries (meat, dairy, produce, others, etc.) within Virginia. We are lucky to be surrounded by so many food growing professionals (farmers!), so I know this information is out there and just needs to be compiled in one place.

The map was originally created to ease people's worries about tariff-related shortages at the grocery store and is now being used as a safety net for people whose SNAP benefits have been threatened in order to streamline the process of finding private/state-level food banks. That being said, the map can be used for those more serious purposes or for something as fun as finding a place with locally produced ice cream to take the kids to next weekend. It is a useful pro-local, pro-agriculture resource in good times and in bad. Access the map here.
