What does an Alzheimer's advocate do?
The role of an Alzheimer's advocate is to help raise their elected officials’ understanding of Alzheimer’s disease as a pressing public health issue that requires their attention.

To do this, advocates work with Association staff and other volunteers in their area to educate and build relationships with their elected representatives.

Advocacy volunteers strategize, plan and participate in a wide range of activities to engage these elected representatives, including private meetings, letters to the editor, and public awareness events such as Coffees with Congress, community forums and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
