I'm interested in exploring a modified elementary school year like that of C.E Broughton Public School in Whitby.

It includes:

- More frequent breaks throughout the year instead of a very long summer break

- Better consistency for students, and

- Would help working parents and guardians who struggle to find childcare and resources in the summers.

There is also the potential for improved mental health outcomes for students and workers, and less chance of learning loss, especially as we integrate youth back to school following two years of closures and hybrid learning.

Would you be open to exploring such an idea? If so, what are some factors that you think we need to consider? If not, tell me why this wouldn't work for you?
