This is the application for enrolling in ECON 79: Research in International Economics for Spring 2026 term.
ECON 79 is a course that covers the latest research in international economics. Students will attend seminars where leading experts from both Dartmouth and
other top institutions worldwide present their latest research and participate
in an active discussion of the merits and limitations of the research. The
primary outcomes of the course will be (1) a series of writing assignments
summarizing these discussions; and (2) a proposed independent research proposal
the student can pursue in a culminating experience and/or a senior thesis.
ECON 79 will require the attendance of regular Monday International Economics Workshops (where Dartmouth faculty and fellows present their work) and Tuesday International Economics Seminars (where faculty from other institutions present their work). Monday talks are from 12:15-1:15; Tuesday talks are from 12:15-1:45. (This means that the class would conflict with other classes in the 11 and 12 slots). Lunch will be provided for both talks. Applications are due by February 10, 2026.
