INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS (Conditions):    
To be accepted as a volunteer with the Australian Wildlife Sanctuary you need:
  • to be 14 years or older, 
  • have a current clear working with children check (if 18 and over), 
  • have no current charges or convictions of animal related offences, 
  • commit to one full shift per fortnight (8:00am - 3:00pm),
  • abide by workplace policies and safety procedures,
  • agree to undertake all reasonable tasks involved in operating a sanctuary,
  • be prepared to work in all weather conditions,
  • to purchase a branded work shirt (these are purchased through the sanctuary).

The Application Process
The steps after application:
  1. Your application is assessed
  2. You will be contacted for a quick phone conversation with our personnel leader, during this call together we can make an assessment to see if the sanctuary may be a suitable place for you to volunteer. If it is agreed that it is suitable than you will be offered a trial start day.
  3. You will be sent an email invitation to our HR Software (BrightHR), you will need to accept this invitation and download the app to view all induction, safety materials and our roster before your trial day.
  4. After your trial day we will have a discussion with you about your future at the sanctuary.
