Caring for People Application
What is Caring For People?
One of the unfortunate realities of modernity is the increased prevalence of
widespread psychological trauma and emotional and mental imbalance. These
difficulties are exacerbated by the lack of awareness and attention of how
community members, helpers, and professionals should deal with these issues.

The purpose of Caring for People is to help define what it means to help and care
for others’ psycho-emotional states, to understand what the needs of the Muslim
community are, and to gain some of the basic triage skills necessary to address them.
The program will explore the underpinnings of issues such as grief and trauma, will
discuss the physiological and psychological effects of those issues and how to identify
them, and will develop active listening skills and stress-reduction (mindfulness)
techniques. This training is an opportunity for teachers, social workers, imams, or any
member of the community involved in community care to learn the proper tools and
skills to help better equip us to do the hard work of heart work.

The annual program consists of two weekend intensives and six weekly webinars,
focusing on providing training of Ta’leef’s approach to mental health, integral wellness,
and community care. Caring for People will provide a combination of didactic and
experiential learning, with plenty of direct access to instructors over the course of both
in-person and webinar-style sessions.

We hope you can join us for this exciting opportunity!
