The Facing Project Gives, Inc. (d/b/a The Facing Project) and the Center for Middletown Studies will produce a forthcoming book,
Facing Middletown (the “Project”), that will be published by The Facing Project Press and composed of stories by Muncie residents using The Facing Project's empathy-building storytelling model. The model pairs storytellers and writers together (1-to-1) to write a first-person narrative told from the storyteller's perspective. All storytellers and writers must be signed up to participate by no later than November 1, 2025.
All writers and storytellers will be trained by The Facing Project on the Project's writing method, best practices for interview techniques, and how to tell (aka write) a good story. Training dates will be set after all writers and storytellers are recruited.
After attending one of the two trainings, storytellers and writers will be paired by the Project (unless a storyteller or writer has a partner in mind; in which case, these individuals will also need to be trained by attending one of the two trainings).
Please contact us at facingmiddletown@facingproject.com with any questions.
Thank you for your participation!
Very truly yours,
The Facing Project and the Center for Middletown Studies
