Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC), with support from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development office of Ohio, is offering free solar assessments for rural small businesses and agricultural producers across the entire state of Ohio from May 1, 2021 through April 2023.
To apply for a free on-site solar power assessment for your business or farm operation, apply following the prompts in the form below. Once received, the SOPEC Program Director, Mat Roberts, will reach out to you directly to capture important information about your solar energy goals, your business' electricity usage, and roof and/or ground space availability for a solar system.
Additionally, SOPEC will provide ongoing assistance and resources available for low-cost financing, federal tax credits and incentives, and the USDA REAP grant, a competitive reimbursement grant for energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements (solar power) of 25% back on the final all-inclusive installation costs.
By answering the questions below, you are entering your small business or farm operation into the Solar Assessment Program (SAP) intake portal to schedule your free solar assessment.
After completion, SOPEC will reach out by phone/email to confirm your eligibility for the program, to discuss what to expect from a SOPEC solar assessment, and to outline steps for any additional follow-up.
