VEILED VERSES - A Blackout Poetry Competition
 
Organised by Sahitya - The Literary & Debating Society of Delhi Technological University under the annual cultural festival ENGIFEST'24 on 16th February.

Blackout poetry is an art form where constraint breeds creativity, and silence speaks volumes. By obscuring the extraneous, they illuminate the hidden narratives that wait patiently between the lines. It whispers a secret language, where the redacted spaces allow the mind to wander, connect, and discover the artistry in subtraction.

Guidelines:
  • This is a solo competition, the duration will be of 1hour and there is only one round.

  • Contestants will be provided with a pre-written content piece and will be tasked to delete phrases/words/sentences in order to generate poetry from that given piece.

  • Contestants must not add any words of their own, only the given content is to be used. 

  • Appropriate punctuations can be added. 

  • Contestants must bring their own sketch pens and pens. 

  • Contestants must adhere to the time limit.
