Sam will speak on Citizen Architect: The art of building by serving others. This lecture will explore my journey in building a life, a career, a network, a community, and architecture. I'll discuss how foundational service to organizations such as Sigma Phi Epsilon and AIA Detroit have helped to shape and direct my career and build a network that has set me up for success. Highlights will include my adventures in Haiti after the 2009 earthquake providing long-term disaster relief, as well as other periods in my career in areas of residential architecture, higher education, PK-12 projects, and a mix of event and experiential design.
