Open Call: Training "Mainstreaming Minority Youth Rights in Youth Work", November 19-25

The Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) within the Erasmus program invites young people from the Western Balkan region to apply for the seven-day training "Mainstreaming Minority Youth Rights in Youth Work" who are active in the civil sector or in their local communities in the field of youth work.

The training is designed for young people working or volunteering in the civil sector, activists, youth with similar professional interests/aspirations active at the local level in their countries, as well as members of minorities, between the ages of 23 and 29, from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

The goal of the training is to improve the skills of young people from the Western Balkans region active in the field of youth work, which primarily concerns minority rights or young professionals who work directly with minorities. Additionally, the program will provide participants with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to support and work with youth from minority communities in the areas of social, economic, civil and political rights. Training working language is English.

Through interactive workshops and lectures, participants will, among other things, develop different types of competencies for improving the state of human rights in their environment, such as understanding relevant frameworks for the fight for human rights, specific pedagogical methods and informal learning methods. In addition, the very structure of the training enables the improvement of regional cooperation among young people on the subject of minorities and their rights.

The application deadline is 20th of October at 2 p.m., and application is made by filling out an online form in English. All registered candidates will be notified of the results of the selection no later than October 28th.

The training will last 7 days (November 19-25, 2022), and will be held in Sremski Karlovci (Serbia) in area. All travel, accommodation and food expenses will be covered by all selected training participants.

If you are interested in empathy and tolerance, cultural and social awareness of the position of others, work and cooperation with peers from the region, facilitation in youth work, then this is the training for you!
