EXTRA PLAYER & PARENT COMMITMENT FORM
IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ & REVIEW CAREFULLY. 

The commitment form below has rules that help and support our Extra program and provide for a safe, and positive environment for our kids! Therefore, in order to participate in our program, Players and Parents agree to the following terms:

1. We agree to make the EXTRA soccer team our first priority over other sports, and other afterschool/ weekend activities from August 2025 through June 2026. We understand that Extra soccer players cannot play on other soccer teams including club teams (United etc) during EXTRA season (exceptions are middle school & high school soccer teams). 2. We agree to attend all team practices (typically 2 practices per week) and additional practices as required in a timely manner over any other practices. Initial below. *
3. We agree to attend all games, scrimmages, and tournaments in a timely manner, including weeknights, Saturdays & Sundays. Initial below. *
4. We agree to inform coaches of absence, illness, or emergency sufficiently in advance of any practices, games, or tournaments that you cannot attend. Excessive unexcused absences may be cause for decreased playing time and possibly removal from the team. Initial below. *
5. We agree to complete the year long commitment term (August to June) with the team. Initial below. *
6. We agree to have at least one parent attend and complete the AYSO Regional referee course prior to the season. Initial below. *
7. We agree to volunteer to referee games (teams must have 4-referees who will referee EXTRA and Core games). Initial below. *
8. I understand that the EXTRA program is refereed by parent volunteers from other EXTRA teams in the region. Each EXTRA team is assigned games to referee.  If my team fails to complete their referee assignments our team will be forced to forfeit games equal to the number of missed referee assignments. 9. We agree to volunteer as needed in the region, including field marshals, tent duty, trash duty, field opening & closing etc. The total number of hours per season are usually 20-28 hours per team. Initial below. *
10. We agree to follow all the Redlands AYSO and AYSO National rules, guidelines, and 6 philosophies. Initial below. *
11. We agree to comply with all game related requests of your team’s coaching staff including, but not limited to, what position(s) to play; what quarters to play; strategies and tactics. Initial below. *
12. We agree to help secure a team sponsorship to contribute towards tournament fees. Additionally, we agree to pay our share of tournament fees.  Initial below. *
13. We agree to support the team and coach. Parents agree to not undermine coach. You will support the coaches & team staff during practices, games and other team events. Coaches will not be removed or replace during the season because you don’t like or agree with the coach. Initial below. *
14. We agree to not yell out instructions during games,. I will make only positive, sportsmanlike comments that encourage my child and other players on both teams. Remember that Coaches coach, Players Play, and Parents Cheer! Initial below. *
15. We agree to not make negative comments about the game, coaches, referees, teammates, or parents in my child’s presence. This sets a bad example, which can negatively influence my child’s motivation and overall experience. I agree to foster a friendly and nonviolent atmosphere. Initial below. *
 16. We agree to “Honor the Game” and understand the importance of setting a good example of sportsmanship for my child. I will show respect for all involved in the game including coaches, players, opponents, opposing fans, and referees. I understand that officials, coaches, and players make mistakes. If the referee makes a call I do not agree with, I will refrain from questioning, insulting or making personal attacks against him or her. Initial below. *
Consequences of Non-Compliance:

Failure to honor any of these commitments may, after consultation with the team coach and approval of the Regional Commissioner and EXTRA Coordinator,  may result in any or all of the following consequences: (a) verbal/written warning; (b) reduction of playing time in league & tournament games(c) suspension from the team; (d) loss of eligibility for future games &  tournament teams; (e) disallowing a problem parent from attending games. Parents may also be sanctioned directly by restricting attendance at all practices, games, and tournaments; (f) player removal from the team (without refund) due to a problem parent(s); (g) such other appropriate consequences as may be approved by the Regional Commissioner; (h) all decisions of the Regional Commissioner and EXTRA Coordinator are final and not open to appeal.
