HOPE Student Ambassador Program Application
The Higher Opportunity Program for Education (HOPE) is a student-initiated, student-run project founded by the Vietnamese Student Union (VSU) in 1999. HOPE is committed to outreaching to under-resourced Southeast Asian youth. HOPE exists to raise consciousness of and provide access to higher education through holistic development. We promote self-sufficiency and leadership through academic, personal, and community empowerment. We support our students through peer-advising, tutoring, workshops, and college field trips. Under the support of the Student-Initiated Outreach Committee (SIOC) and the direction of VSU, HOPE aspires towards its goal of educational equity for all.

About the HOPE Student Ambassador Program:
Our program aims to empower student leaders and increase visibility at our sites. This program is an opportunity for students to strengthen their leadership and advocacy skills and promote academic and holistic growth to HOPE students. Student Ambassadors are expected to exemplify leadership within the HOPE space and contribute to HOPE Mentorship, workshops, and outreach efforts. HOPE Student Ambassadors will utilize collaboration and teamwork to both improve their individual skills and promote the values of the program.

Ambassador Expectations:
- Attend Student Ambassador meetings (tentatively twice a month; Jan 2022 - May 2022)
- Lead 1 workshop
- Help coordinate 1 event
- Outreach for HOPE to classes, clubs, and organizations

Note: The Student Ambassador Program anticipates being conducted virtually at the moment. We hope to shift to a hybrid/in-person format in Spring should the Covid-19 regulations allow us to do so.
