Job DescriptionCamp Counselors, Camp Community ArtsCamp Community Arts (CCA) is hiring Camp Counselors (ages 15-22) for Spring and Summer Camps 2017. Spring Camp runs April 3-7 and Summer Camp runs for eight weeks, from June 19 - August 11, 2017, and is divided into four sessions, broken down into two-week increments.
Camp 1: June 19 – June 20Camp 2: July 3 – July 14Camp 3: July 17 – July 28Camp 4: July 31 – August 11
Examples of possible Summer Camp offerings are:• Theater and Performance Art, youth• Visual Art, youth • Mixed Media Art, youth• Photography and Digital Arts, youth• Jewelry, youth• Dance, youth • Music, youth• Eco-Arts and Maker Arts, youth
Key duties of Camp Counselors include, but are not limited to: • Assisting Campers during morning care, after care, lunch, classes, and fieldtrips• Assisting Teaching Artists during art classes• Assisting CCA staff and parents with checking in Campers during drop-offs and pick ups• Chaperoning Campers between classes and during fieldtrips• Occasionally co-/leading teambuilding and other creative activities• Communicating needs and questions among Campers, teachers, parents, and staff
Ideal candidates:• Enjoy working with kids ages 3-14• Are patient and flexible• Appreciate arts and creativity• Are excellent communicators with strong verbal and written skills• Are responsible and work well with others• Are interested in developing leadership and professional growth experience • Experience working with summer camps, youth, and/or arts is a plus
Hours and CompensationThe Camp Counselor position is a seasonal, paid hourly position. Work hours for this position include classes, fieldtrips, meetings, open houses, and community events. Hours for this position will vary depending on the needs of the program.
All Camp Counselors must attend the Camp Counselor group interviews and counselor training.

Group interviews for Summer Camp: April 23rd and 24th Counselor training for Summer Camp: Week of June 12th -16th
