Effects of Right Wing Attacks on Equity, Social Justice Frameworks, and Critical Studies
Over the last six months, the American Right has taken aim at critical race theory, intersectionality, and other frameworks we use to understand America's unequal past and present. The attack culminated in the “Executive Order on Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping,” which barred federal entities from hosting and federal funds from being used in “workplace diversity trainings,” threatening diversity, inclusion and anti-racist work in all sectors.
As part of AAPF's #TruthBeTold campaign to push back against the Right's attempt to silence speech that it deems subversive or "un-American," we are hoping to collect additional responses regarding the chilling effect that such attacks are having, despite the Inauguration of a new presidential administration. Have you or anyone in your networks been affected? Have you heard or read of any related effects? We are interested in responses regarding any and all types of institutions (i.e. governmental or private). Effects could include canceled trainings, workshops, courses, lectures, etc.
Responses may be shared in publicity materials and with media outlets, but will remain anonymous. If you are willing to give a statement, we would be deeply appreciative if you would leave a brief testimony in the survey boxes below. And please let us know if you'd we willing to speak with us by phone, should we want to follow up, gather more information, and discuss next steps.
You can email us at

with any questions or to contribute further. Thank you in advance.
