** 2017 INTERVIEW AND CONTEST VENUE LOCATIONS ARE TO BE DETERMINED **
Interview in Street/Casual Wear (25 points): Contestants will be interviewed by a judging panel prior to the evening portions of the contest. These interviews will be closed to the public. Contestants will be judged on their ability to think on their feet, their knowledge of lifestyle related issues and history, and how they respond to the questions asked of them.
Leather Image (25 points): Contestants will be judged on their overall leather image while on stage. This will include formal wear when first introduced and biographical information is read and an overall impression from the judges of their total leather image throughout the contest. This category should be scored last.
Stage Presence (25 points): Each contestant will randomly select a pop question to answer on stage. Questions will be submitted by the judges and emcee. The appropriate dress for this section is your briefest look.
Speech (25 points): Contestants are judged in this category by how they present and carry themselves while giving a 90 second speech on a topic of their choice. Contestants are to be judged based on how well they present their message and how the audience receives it.
The judges are prominent members of the community whom the contest producers and owners feel best represent the values and character traits that we want to see in Mr. Daddy’s Barbershop Leather. Each represents a different portion of the local community. All exhibit the sense of citizenship, community, work ethic, and independent character that makes a strong Leatherman. The contest producers will choose a Judge of Honor prior to prejudging.
Each judge will give each contestant a score up to the maximum amount in each category. The contestant with the highest total points will be Mr. Daddy’s Barbershop Leather. In the event of a tie, the Judge Honor’s scores will supersede the others.
