Right to Play 2012 New York City Half Marathon

Right To Play has the unique opportunity to be a charity recipient of the 2012 NYC Half Marathon. As an organization, Right To Play has ten race entries to allocate to individuals who support the mission of the organization and are dedicated to helping our cause by meeting the fundraising minimum.

We ask that all participants meet a fundraising minimum of $1,600. It costs just $50 to provide sport and play programs to a child for an entire year, so entrants support 32 children by meeting this goal. Participants will be set up with an individual fundraising page and personal assistance to help them in meeting their goals. Fundraising ideas may include an online giving campaign, use of social media outlets, gatherings where you feature Right To Play, etc. Our goal from participating in the 2012 NYC Half Marathon is to raise enough funds to support 320 children.

Right To Play is the leading international humanitarian and development organization using the transformative power of sport and play to build essential skills in children and thereby drive social change in communities affected by war, poverty, and disease. Right To Play creates a safe place for children to learn and fosters the hope that is essential for children to envision and realize a better future.

Right To Play’s programs focus on four key areas – basic education and child development, health promotion and disease prevention, conflict resolution and peace building, and community development and participation. Right To Play currently works in 20 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South America and provides sport and play programs for approximately 700,000 children weekly.
