Agreement Policies
Please read through.

1. We expect all students to be present on time and during the hours of Sol Music. This is not only concerning commitment, but also a liability issue for us. All classes begin at 3:30pm and run until 4:45pm. Students will be dismissed strictly at this time unless notified previously by parent, guardian, or staff at Ryerson Community School.

2. Student absences will be strictly monitored. Please notify us of any absences prior to scheduled classes at solmusicuoft@gmail.com. Sol Music has the right to remove your child from the program after two (2) unexcused absences in the semester. As our program is a needs-based program, your child’s unexcused absence will be understood that they no longer desire to be enrolled in our program, and we will open this spot up to the next child on the waitlist who will greatly appreciate this opportunity.

3. All students are required to provide their own instrument, which can be purchased or rented at reasonable costs. Piano students must purchase an instrument with at least 61 keys. Affordable options can be found at Walmart, Canadian Tire, and Future Shop. Guitar students are encouraged to use nylon string classical guitars which can be loaned or purchased at Long & McQuade, Steve’s Music Store, or Remenyi House of Music. All students must have their instrument assembled and in good condition by October 21st, 2017.

4. As with previous years, there are no guaranteed acceptances on the basis of previous participation. Hence, filling out this registration package does not automatically indicate that your child has been accepted into the program. Sol Music will send you a confirmation of acceptance based on need and availability, once we have gone through all of the registration forms sent to us online and offline. (We are also still only able to provide guitar lessons for children in Grades 3 to 8.)

5. Once you have received a confirmation of acceptance, you will be asked to pay a $10 administrative fee (one-time fee per school year) upon your child’s enrollment. This payment can be done via PayPal or in person by the requested date (TBA).
