Global Ministries EarthKeepers Application

EarthKeepers equips United Methodists in the United States to develop environmental projects in their communities.
EarthKeepers is for United Methodists who:
• Feel a sense of God’s call to care for the environment and are ready to take bold action;
• Need to strengthen their organizing skills and deepen their theological resources;
• Want to join a network of United Methodist EarthKeepers who are engaged in environmental ministries;
• Have some previous volunteer or professional experience with environmental issues and/or ministry.

At the end of this application, you will be asked to respond to four questions:
1. Why are you applying for EarthKeepers training? (up to 200 words/1200 characters)

2. What is your experience with environmental issues and/or ministries of The United Methodist Church? (up to 200 words/1200 characters)

3. Each EarthKeeper will design and implement a project in their church or community. This may be an entirely new project or part of an ongoing initiative. What problem would you like to address through your project? Where do you see God in this work? (up to 500 words/3000 characters)

4. What gifts and skills do you bring that might be helpful to other participants? (up to 100 words/1200 characters)

Please establish a connection with one of the following people and ask them to complete the short questionnaire at this link:

• The chairperson of your conference Board of Global Ministries
• The chairperson of your conference creation care ministry (if one exists)
• Your district superintendent
• Your conference director of connectional ministries
• Your bishop

Note: Participants in this program should be based in the United States at the time of application and training. Global Ministries will not provide travel visa or travel financial support to participate.
