SOCS 2019 Workshop Application

Welcome to the workshop proposal application for the Multicultural Center's 3rd Annual Students of Color Summit (SOCS) 2019: (RE) BIRTH! Please fill this out and submit this by Friday April 12th, 2019 at 11:59PM to have your workshop be considered for the 2019 conference.

Everyone (students, community members, alumni, staff and/or faculty) who is interested in facilitating a workshop, leading a discussion, or sharing their ideas is encouraged to apply! Please note: if you are staff and/or faculty member, we ask that you work with a student(s) on developing and facilitating your workshop.

Your workshop can be on any myriad of topics, but we strongly encourage your workshop to be related to our theme, (RE)B.I.R.T.H., which serves as a representation of what we hope to accomplish in bringing communities of color and accomplices together. Through rebuilding, reimagining, rerouting, rethinking, and rehealing, we hope to cultivate a brave space that will raise consciousness for community advocacy and social justice.

Workshops will take place on Saturday, May 25th, 2019 in a 70 minute time slot between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Applicants can submit as many proposals as they would like. In the case that your proposals are accepted, we will be contacting you directly and asking you if you would like to facilitate all or just one of your workshops.

Should you have any questions or would like make any changes to any previously submitted application, please contact us directly at!

We look forward to reading your application! Please forward this application to anyone you know who may be interested in facilitating a workshop.
