Join us for the 10th anniversary of the Food Law Student Leadership Summit hosted at Harvard Law School on October 3-5, 2025!
The Summit is a unique opportunity for law students to engage with peers, faculty, attorneys, and policy advocates and explore how their legal skills can help build a more just, equitable, and sustainable food system. This year's theme is Food and Democracy: From Policy to Plate. Our goal is to bring together students from across the country to connect, spark meaningful conversations, and think critically about the pressing issues shaping our food system.
We welcome applications from any law student (JD or LLM) currently attending a U.S. law school. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated interest in food law and policy, are active in food law student organizations—or are eager to start one—and have shown leadership or experience in the field. To ensure a diverse group, we may limit the number of participants from individual law schools. Some spots will be reserved for first-year students. Lodging and partial travel funding will be provided for all selected attendees.
This application is intended for JD and LLM students interested in food law and policy (outside of Harvard Law School). All are encouraged to apply, especially those from schools with less food law educational opportunities. Are you a Harvard Law School student? Contact gnorton@law.harvard.edu for registration info.
Please apply as soon as possible. We will review applications on a rolling basis and begin notifying accepted applicants starting August 18.
- Travel stipends and lodging are available in limited numbers, so early application is important to secure funding support. If spaces remain after August 18, we will continue to accept applications on a rolling basis until mid-September.
We encourage you to apply and become part of this vibrant community working toward a better food system!
The Harvard Food Law and Policy Clinic, sponsored by Charles M. Haar Food and Health Law and Policy Fund, graciously funds the student experience.
