Thank you for your interest in becoming a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or an Associate Prevention Specialist (APS) in Vermont. At this time, Prevention Works!VT has limited funding available to help support your continuing education needs OR reimburse you for your CPS exam fee of $150.00. We can also offer $100 for your APS application fee.
Please complete this application to request funding. PW will contribute toward registration costs only, and will assist toward early bird registration fees. Wherever possible, we ask that prospective members please also request scholarship funding from the conference organizers. This maximizes the funding available to all members. Funding will be given on a first come, first serve basis. For the continuing education, you must have at least 1000 hours of supervised prevention experience and a full intention to apply for the CPS credential or 500 hours of prevention experience with the intention to apply for the APS credential. Prospective candidates are expected to attend the full training they have registered for, and will be asked to submit a copy of their certificate of attendance confirming their participation. If a member cannot attend the training for some reason, they must reimburse Prevention Works.
Example training opportunities include (but are not limited to) the Summer School of Addiction Studies, the Summer School of Best Practices, CADCA mid-year or CADCA's regular annual conference, the Alcohol Policy Conference, and specialty training session from Prevention Solutions.
To be reimbursed for the $150.00 exam fee or for the $100 fee for APS, you must apply for either credential before June 20th, 2025.
