RSVP: Small-group meetings
This is an ongoing series of small group conversations around different themes for interested faculty, students, and staff. This is open only to members of the Brooklyn College community.
These are intended to get us together and talking in person in an informal setting. We hope to create spaces to process, listen and connect, ideally promoting communication and building a stronger community.
Ultimately we hope we can all better understand each other's concerns and perspectives.
We will rotate locations and future meetings will cover topics like: comparing experiences in the classroom (what strategies or resources encouraged effective dialogue); discussing the idea of "safety" on campus; activities to empathize and understand each other's perspectives and promote active listening; sharing experiences navigating the personal and the political in the classroom and on campus.
We welcome everyone who is committed to listening, sharing, and learning from each other's experiences and thoughts. We will circulate proposed community guidelines beforehand for participants to read and will discuss them in our meeting.
