Committee Descriptions
Advocacy Committee Description
This committee leads the efforts of OSCA in influencing public policy as well as keeping all members informed of issues concerning our educational system and legislative initiatives with an emphasis on school counseling.
Awards Committee Description
The awards committee works to recognize school counselor excellence.The committee solicits nominations for yearly awards including: SCOY, Emerging Leader, Scholarships & Grants, and Association/Member Achievements.  Committee members develop scoring rubrics for the OSCAR and Emerging Leader and score the applications.
Communications Committee Description
This committee manages all publications and outreach of the association, including newsletters, brochures, okschoolcounselor.org website, and social media presence.
DEI Committee Description
This committee promotes and communicates on the issues of diversity, equity, and access.  This committee assists in planning inclusion and access opportunities, and professional development.
Membership Committee Description
This committee helps expand and promote membership throughout the state.  In addition, they manage the database and keep an accurate record of the association’s membership.
Professional Development Committee Description
This committee helps expand and promote membership throughout the state.  In addition, they manage the database and keep an accurate record of the association’s membership.
Finance Committee Description
Committee members review financial transactions, oversee committee budgets, and develop financial policies when needed.  This committee also oversees all travel expenditures.
