CAMS H.H. Wang-Ngai Junior Faculty Award 

The goal of the CAMS H.H. Wang-Ngai Junior Faculty Award is to support a new Chinese American female clinician investigator or physician-scientist in New York. The investigator should be beginning their careers as an independent researcher and should be at the Clinical Instructor and/or Assistant Professor level at a LCME accredited school of allopathic or osteopathic medicine in New York State and should intend to focus on basic or translational or clinical research related to health problems of the Chinese American community.

The award may be used for the collection of preliminary data, equipment, or research personnel (in the form of research coordinator, research assistant, or research technician). The award should be used to strengthen a grant application to be submitted within one year of the award.  
The funds cannot be used for salary support of the principal investigator. Institutional indirect costs are not supported.

The award will provide the principal investigator with grants up to $6,000 over  a period of 2 years.
The Award will be presented to the Recipient on November 2, 2024 at the CAMS & CAIPA Red Lantern Gala in New York City.

  • Brief Budget Justification (maximum 1 page)
  • Project Description 
    Within a maximum of 3 pages, include the following sections in your application:
    • Description – Abstract, Specific Aims, Introduction, Preliminary results, Approach
    • Project Timeline
    • Figures and References may be added as appendix (Combined maximum of additional 2 pages)
  • Two letters of recommendation from senior faculty
    Please be advised that all letters of recommendation should be on official letterhead and signed.  Letters can be submitted separately by email to scholarship@camsociety.org
