Snap the Gap: Site Application
Welcome fellow STEM enthusiasts! Snap The Gap is currently recruiting sites for our 2019 pilot program in California. We have two sessions kicking off this year, one in July and the other in September. Please fill out the application below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Application Deadlines:
Session 2 (September - December 2019): Wednesday, July 31, 2019

Selected applicants will be notified via email by the Snap the Gap team. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the the goal of reaching 15,000 girls across the state is reached.

Site Coordinator Requirements & Responsibilities
To be considered for an official Snap the Gap program site, each site must:

1. Be located in California

2. Must have a minimum of TEN 10-12 year old girls participating in the program

3. Must have dedicated space to host the program

4. Commit to a session schedule. See the session calendars for more details.

*Note: The calendar has all events happening on Wednesdays, however, site coordinators can choose any day within the week to host a session.

5. Your site must be associated with an affiliated institution. Affiliations include school-based programs, after-school programs, non-profit organizations, and girl-serving organizations (Girl Scouts, 4H, YMCA, etc.)

**Note: If you are not currently associated with an affiliated institution, Snap the Gap recommends connecting with a teacher/principle at a school or presenting this opportunity to an after-school program. Email snapthegap@ucdavis.edu with any questions before applying.

6. Each site requires a volunteer site coordinator (you!). To become a site, you must commit as a site coordinator to facilitate the program and be the ultimate STEM cheerleader.

As a Snap The Gap site coordinator, you will be responsible for connecting with the mentors we've recruited for your location and making sure they've completed the background checks required by your organization. Do you have access to the background check process for volunteers/future mentors? We ask mentors to pay for their own background check, but can they use your existing measure in place?
