Your child is now starting their final year in school and we are aware that Bryngwyn parents are keen to support and help their children, we have therefore arranged an evening on Thursday 12th September to provide you with information regarding GCSEs and give you an overview of the year ahead. Feedback from previous evenings suggest parents have found this information useful in helping manage the demands of the year ahead.

The evening will consist of two separate sessions.

The first session 5pm – 6pm will be a Parent Twilight session presented by an external company called Positively You. This will outline the techniques which the pupils will have learnt in a workshop during the day and give strategies on how you can support your child during this challenging year. Further details are included.

During the second session 6pm – 6:30 Mr Edwyn Davies, Head of Pupil Progress, will deliver a presentation outlining the key dates and assessments in the year ahead and the support that the school provides. The head of departments for English, maths and science will outline the requirements of the GCSEs and suggest ways in which you may be able to support your child.

Members of senior staff will also be available for consultation following these sessions and the assessment overview sheets will be available during the meeting and on our website afterwards.
