The Spanish CLEL Bell Selection Committee will be most active September 2026 through May 2027.  Are you able to commit to this timeline?  *
The Spanish CLEL Selection Committee chooses awards every two years.  If you are selected, your first two years you would have a mentor and ideally in your third and fourth years you would be a mentor.  Do you have the capacity and interest to serve a four-year term?

This is an example of a Book and Activity Recommendation Paragraph, which is part of the Bell Awards Committee Application. It is intended to model the types of connections the Bell Award Committee will be looking for and considering as they examine the books. Your paragraph may be shorter, depending on how many of the early literacy skills you choose to discuss for your title. Thank you Vera for letting us use your application paragraph from 2025 as an example for this year's application. *The paragraph can be written in English or Spanish.

Este es un ejemplo de un párrafo de recomendación de libros y actividades, que forma parte de la Solicitud del Comité de los Premios CLEL Bell. Su objetivo es modelar los tipos de conexiones que el Comité de los Premios Bell buscará y considerará al examinar los libros. Tu párrafo puede ser más corto, dependiendo de cuántas de las habilidades de alfabetización temprana elijas analizar en tu título. Título: Elena monta en bici/ Elena Rides Autora: Juana Medina Editorial: Candlewick Fecha de publicación: 2023 ISBN: Bilingual ed. 9781536232509 En venta? Si Resumen con habilidades ECRR: Este es un libro sobre Elena, una joven elefante que está aprendiendo a montar en bicicleta. Las ilustraciones son encantadoras y hay mucha alegría en el mensaje de aprender a montar en bicicleta compartido con el lector. El libro fomenta la participación activa de los niños. Les anima a predecir lo que sucederá a continuación en el cuento e involucra a los niños con el personaje de Elena. He tenido el placer de leer este libro en muchas aulas preescolares y la alegría en sus rostros expresada por las ilustraciones y el lenguaje es maravillosa. El cuento utiliza un vocabulario rico y estructuras de oraciones simples, lo que ayuda a los niños a desarrollar las habilidades lingüísticas necesarias para la comprensión lectora. Las ilustraciones apoyan la decodificación desde el principio, ya que Elena “sube, baja y gira” en el libro. Las imágenes corresponden al texto mínimo pero rico. Este es un gran libro para que los adultos lean con los niños y discutan activamente. El mensaje de “inténtalo y vuelve a intentarlo” se describe con éxito en este cuento y leer el libro juntos puede promover prácticas positivas de alfabetización en el hogar.
