This program is facilitated by Cambridge Speech and Language Pathologists.

The focus of this Intensive is to guide the students in the application of practical strategies to broaden their reading comprehension. The executive function skills of planning, organization, cognitive flexibility, and impulse control will be highlighted in our work together. The students will be presented with practical strategies to build each of these executive skills and actively apply them to their reading.

In addition to these executive skills, the program will also work on building four important elements of text analysis and comprehension: sequencing, characterization, cause/effect, and summarization.

This Intensive promises to be a fun and practical approach to help students with reading comprehension challenges.

3. Afternoon Intensive: EFforT (Executive Function for Teens)
This EFforT Intensive is facilitated by Cambridge Speech and Language Pathologists.

Grades: 7-12
1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m., Monday to Thursday
Monday, July 1st - Thursday, July 25th (four weeks)
*Closed Thursday, July 4th for the holiday
Cost: $1,750.00

This program is designed for older students who would benefit from strategies aimed at developing higher order thinking skills with a strong emphasis on the development of executive function skills needed for academics and planning multi-step projects. Often students find tackling long-term projects significantly challenging due to executive skills such as: time-management, task-initiation, sequencing, organization of materials, metacognition, prioritization and cognitive flexibility when working both independently and in groups.

This intensive will offer concrete strategies and take home materials for students to generalize beyond the summer program into their upcoming school year.

Students who attend the morning have a supervised lunch and recess period from 12:00p.m. to 1:00p.m. and must bring their own lunch.
