CPS and the CPC: Understanding the CPS Process from Allegation to Case Closed
This webinar will explain the CPS process from intake to completion. Participants will analyze the background information provided for a CPS job and perform a self-analysis prior to accepting/declining the job. Participants will also compile a list of questions that should be asked of the point of contact (POC) after accepting a job facilitating a 2nd self-analysis. They will also be discussion/activities focusing on how to succinctly and effectively explain (to CPS) the importance of the customs of the deaf communities, language, communication requirements and cultural needs.
This workshop was developed based on the Texas standards governing CPS operations. While similar, CPS operations in other states may differ.
This workshop will provide .7 RID and BEI (Ethics) CEUs .1 CEUs will be a homework assignment. You will watch 2 movies (9 mins and 22 mins) and answer questions in a Google form. Once you have registered and payment has been received, an email will be sent with confirmation as well as the links to the movie. If you do not complete the homework portion of the workshop before midnight, October 25th, 2020, then CEUs will be forfeited. You must complete all 3 sessions in order to receive CEUs.
