WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?  This event is for adults. Friends, family and neighbors in the Multnomah, Hayhurst, and Maplewood neighborhood areas are specifically invited due to proximity to the school zone, but all adults are welcome and encouraged to join us!

LOCATION: Volunteers will meet at SW 50th Ave & Vermont St then disperse to display signs in the school zone between this location down to and including the 45th & Vermont St intersection.

INSTRUCTIONS: Adult volunteers report to SW 50th Ave & Vermont St at 7:30am Monday, October 13, 2025 (or when you arrive).  You're encouraged to wear bright colored clothing and safety vests will also be available.  Receive a sign from our volunteer coordinator and instructions about where to stand and display your sign.  The event is 7:30-9am. Afterward return signage and equipment to event coordinator.

EVENT GOALS: Build community, encourage drivers to slow down in the school zone and SW Vermont St corridor, collaborate with PBOT to improve traffic safety in our area that has increasing traffic volume on Vermont St and few residential sidewalks.
