2020 Denver Compost Challenge Call for Volunteers
The Denver Compost Challenge is an effort started by a group of community volunteers active in neighborhood green teams and faith-based sustainability groups who have a vision for strengthening our community through conversations and education at the local neighbor-to-neighbor level. We are a dedicated and passionate group
excited to share our enthusiasm for nourishing the soil through composting food scraps and yard waste.

Goals for the Challenge:
• Increase the number of residents composting through the Denver Composts program or other options
• Decrease contamination in compost and recycling
• Build community and neighborhood connections

Do you love to compost? Please consider joining us to share your passion for all things compost!
As a volunteer, you would attend a variety of community events such as plant sales, local festivals and farmer’s markets to talk to participants about composting and the resources available to Denver residents. At the training session, we will provide a model for engaging people in conversations about composting.

Time commitment:
Volunteers are expected to volunteer for 20 hours between April and November 2020. The 20 hours includes attending a two-hour training and approximately 18 hours of staffing community events. Volunteers can also plan a community event that incorporates composting as part of their time commitment.

Training Dates:
• Saturday, March 7 from 9 - 11 a.m.
• Wednesday, March 18 from 6 - 8 p.m.

Both trainings will be held in central Denver.

Note: You only need to attend one training session.
