Chip Art Workshop for Children Sponsored by Fresh Artists 3rd grade and up
Your child has a chance of having their artwork installed in the new Germantown Co-op!

What can you do with recycled cardboard and cut-up paint sample chips? Create a one-of-a-kind work of art, of course! This workshop series is geared towards children in 3rd grade and up. The subject matter will be fruits, veggies, and other items found in our stores. Attendees will unlock their boundless potential of artistic expression by creating mosaics with paint sample swatches that would otherwise be thrown away. This is a 3 part series that will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Monday is the introduction where we get them started and give step by step instructions on how to create their works of art. Snacks will be provided. Wednesday is an optional studio work day for children who need a workspace, and Friday is presentation day where children present their work for the possibility of having their art installed somewhere in the Weavers Way Germantown store. All pieces will be presented together in a montage at the end of the workshop series.

Chip Art - a fun, green Fresh Artists art program turning trash into treasure! Fresh Artists is a nonprofit organization that works with schools, empowering students by displaying their art in visible and unexpected places. They also ensure all children have access to art by delivering art supplies and innovative art programs to underfunded schools.  Learn more about them at freshartists.org.
