MSO 2018 Concerto Competition
Please complete this form to participate in the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra concerto competition. The 2018 competition is open to student musicians in grades 6-12 and all orchestral instruments except piano. (Winners of the previous year’s competition are not eligible to enter.)

Check your repertoire first by sending an email to us at (We'd love to know of your interest and repertoire in advance for planning purposes, but this is not required.)

When you are ready with your video audition, submit this form including the link to your video no later than 11:59pm on Friday, March 9th, 2018. Limit of one video submission per student.

A panel of judges will review submitted material, and competitors will be notified of the results on or by Tuesday, March 27th.

Winners will be invited to perform their piece with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra at a community concert to be held on Sunday, June 3, 2018. The number of winners will be determined by the number and quality of entrants, as well as programming considerations such as repertoire and instrumentation; the panel reserves the right to not select a winner if the level of playing does not make a public performance appropriate.

Winners should plan to join the MSO for at least three evening rehearsals (typically Mondays) prior to the concert to prepare their pieces with the orchestra.
